You will escape the hectic metropolis and drive in about 45 minutes to the village of Ramang-Ramang, which is located in the regency of Maros.
When you arrive, a pleasant cool breeze awaits you between the limestone cliffs and nipa palms.

On your way there, you will visit Fort Rotterdam, built by King Tunipallangga of Gowa in 1545 and the King’s Palace of the Gowa Kingdom “Balla Lompoa”, traditionally built on wooden pillars in 1936.

After breakfast, your private guide will be waiting for you for your tour through the Kaarst forests in a traditional canoe.

After half an hour of canoe paddling on the Puteh River in the beautiful landscape, along the nippa palms and limestone cliffs, you will enjoy a gentle hike and explore the Passaung Cave, a small cave with some prehistoric drawings inside.

Then you go back to the river and paddle for another 15 minutes to the village of Berua, which is surrounded by the limestone cliffs.
The word “Berua” comes from the Makassarese language and means “new”.
On site, you will immerse yourself in the traditional everyday life of the locals in Berua.

After lunch, you will paddle out of the village and enjoy another gentle trek between the picturesque limestone cliffs.
Before you are driven back to your hotel, you will visit the famous limestone cave Leang Leang.

After an early breakfast and check-out, your private tour guide will be waiting for you in the lobby of your hotel.

In an air-conditioned private car, you will then travel for 6 – 7 hours through the south of Sulawesi, past majestic mountains and the traditional Bugis villages with their unique houses to Rantepao. You will finally reach your hotel in the late afternoon.

You have breakfast at the hotel and are then driven to Suaya to visit the royal family tombs.

Afterwards you go to Lemo, where you will marvel at the unique rock tombs with the famous “Tau Tau” wooden figures.

Another bizarre highlight are the baby graves in a large tree near Kambira. The Toraja are the only people in the archipelago who bury their dead in this way. Before the dead are buried in rock caves or in trees, they first spend a while in the Tongkonan – the clan house. According to the Toraja belief, the spirit only leaves the family when it is taken from the clan house to its final resting place.

Your lunch will be served in a local restaurant with a fantastic view over the rice fields. Afterwards you will visit the cave tombs of Londa, the hanging tombs of Kete Kesu and learn about the traditional wood carving art of the locals.

Today you will visit one of the most beautiful villages in Toraja – Palawa, known for its typical colorful houses decorated with numerous buffalo horns.

Learn more about the traditional cotton processing in the villages of “Sa’ and To’ Barana”.

Then you will travel through the beautiful mountain landscapes of Batutumonga at an altitude of 1,355 meters in refreshing temperatures of around 17 – 18 degrees Celsius. You will also have lunch there. After this refreshment, you will continue to the tombs in the rocky slopes of Lo’ko mata and a hiking tour from Pana to Tikala – one of the most beautiful hiking routes in South Sulawesi.

After breakfast and checking out of the hotel, a somewhat longer journey (approx. 7 – 8 hours) takes you via Pendolo to Tentena.
Of course, you always have the opportunity to stretch your legs and take photo stops, visit markets or buy exotic goods. You will reach your hotel in Tentena in the late afternoon.

After breakfast in your cottage, you will take a 3-4 hour jeep ride over rough terrain to Bada Valley.
You will make a few stops along the way to enjoy the fantastic mountain panoramas and explore the local villages.
After lunch, you will go on a discovery tour through the village with its mysterious megaliths until sunset.

After breakfast, your guide will be waiting for you at the lobby to drive you to a huge megalith in the Sepe area called Palindo.
7 km from your host family, you will then walk across the suspension bridge and through cocoa plantations and rice fields.
From the Palindo megalith, you will continue towards Maturu, Crown, Kalambas and Oba megalith.

After lunch, we will continue walking to the main road where a jeep will pick you up to visit Tinoe, where traditional clothing is made from cowhide, and then to the Baula megaliths.
From Baula, you will return to the village of Bomba with stops at Tarai Roi and Ari Ipohi megaliths.

Before you return to Tentena today, you and your guide will visit the still unexplored areas in Lore Lindu NP.
First you will go along the rice fields and small traditional villages towards Doda Village.
Then you will continue over a bamboo bridge that leads over the Lariang River to the village of Besoa.
After the tour, your driver will be waiting for you for your return journey by jeep to Tentena.

Today it’s time to say goodbye to the little paradise that is Malenge Island.
After breakfast and check-out, you will be taken to Gorontalo by charter speedboat in about 3 – 4 hours.

After breakfast, we continue towards Huwangobotu Village or Botubarani Village.
You don’t need much luck to see whale sharks right on the jetty. A daily visit to the sea giants is more of a normal part of everyday life there, but otherwise of course unique in the world.

Then we continue to the Otanaha Fortress, which was built in 1522 by King Ilato from the Gorontalo Kingdom. Nestled in the Dembe Hills, you have a great view of Lake Limboto.

After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will drive with your guide to the Hungayono Sanctuary breeding site for endemic Maleo birds in Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park.

From there, you will ride about 15 – 20 minutes by motorbike to the starting point of Bogani Nani Warta Bone National Park.
Your hike to the ranger post takes about 1 hour. During the trek, you can see tarsiers in the bamboo tree or other wildlife such as scoop-tailed macaques and many birds, including the endemic pygmy kingfisher.
The hike here is hilly and surrounded by beautiful tropical rainforests. In the late afternoon, you will return to Gorontalo.

Today after breakfast and check-out, you will head back to Huwangobotu Village or Botubarani Village to get another chance to get up close and personal with the gentle whale sharks.

Early in the morning you head out into the jungle. Together with your local ranger you have the best chance of seeing many species of birds and other animals.

The crested macaques in particular go out to look for food at this time of day. After a few exciting hours you return to your hotel for breakfast.

At around 5 p.m. you go on another private excursion where you explore the endemic diversity of flora and fauna.

Go in search of the funny crested macaques, the indigenous black monkeys (Macaca nigra) of North Sulawesi, as well as the shy climbing marsupials – the cuscus (phalangers), hornbills, and much more.

When it gets dark in the tropical rainforest you have the unique opportunity to observe and photograph the goblins of the forest hunting – the smallest primate species in the world, the tarsiers (Tarsiidae).

At Lake Tondano, you will not only enjoy the wonderful view of the lake from the tree house, but also have the opportunity to eat fresh fish from the lake for lunch.
