After breakfast we go to Deer Island, Menjangan Island in the marine nature reserve of Bali Barat National Park.

Experience a spectacular above and underwater world. The island is surrounded by miles of coral reefs, where an incredible variety of tropical fish and corals in all colors of the rainbow can be explored.

The special nature conservation makes it possible above all to make regular visits to the endangered beautiful hawksbill turtles.

The Bali – East Java & Komodo trip for today that you will be driven to the port in Gilimanuk.

The ferry takes you to Java in about an hour.

Before continuing towards Kalibaru with its traditional mountain villages and extensive exotic plantations far away from mass tourism to your hotel, we will take you to Baluran National Park, where you will explore the flora and fauna of the national park accompanied by a park ranger.

The colorful peacocks and wild chickens that live there offer fantastic photo opportunities. Playful macaques and flying squirrels in the treetops, Javanese wild oxen, deer, monitor lizards and langurs are numerous in the evergreen rainforest.

From the Bekol lookout tower you have a perfect panoramic view and watch the wildlife undisturbed.

Afterwards you will have enough time to explore the surroundings of the beautiful, natural beach Bama Beach with its extensive mangrove forests.

Kalibaru is famous for its exotic cocoa, coffee and rubber tree plantations.

Before heading towards Turtle Beach today, you will visit one of the large plantations with your guide.

In addition to coffee, there is also cocoa and rubber processing here. You will be able to see many rare plants here, such as durian, sugar cane, clove, nutmeg, vanilla and more.

During a tour of the plantations, you will be introduced to the processes of cocoa, coffee and/or rubber harvesting and processing (depending on the season).

After your tour, you will take an off-road vehicle towards Meru Betiri National Park, taking a short break at the most beautiful viewpoints along the way.

At around 7:00 p.m., the Park Ranger awaits you at Sukamade Turtle Beach, a 3-kilometer sandy beach on the Indian Ocean where 5 different turtle species come ashore all year round to lay their eggs. Each individual turtle lays over a hundred eggs in its enclosure.

Experience has shown that most turtles come to lay their eggs around 19:30 and return to the sea around 24:00.

In the morning, the park ranger will take you back to the beach to give you the opportunity to escort some of the baby turtles from the local nursery from her hand into the open sea to freedom.

Afterwards we have a hearty breakfast before we drive about 3 hours to Banyuwangi.

On the way you have the opportunity to relax and swim on the beautiful beaches of Green Bay and Pantai Merah.

In the afternoon you will reach your luxurious tent resort with a view of the tropical rainforest.

You have the option of getting up around 04:00 a.m. and leaving for Paltuding at around 05:30 a.m. Once there, the approximately 2-hour ascent on foot to the crater of the Ijen Plateau begins. This is one highlights of Bali – East Java & Komodo tour.   

Recommendation! Depart as early as 01:00 AM for the opportunity to experience the natural wonder of the Blue Fire.

After the ascent, it goes about 700 meters steeply down into the crater of Mt. Ijen. Once there, you will have the opportunity to experience something unique in the world, witnessing the blue fire of the sulphur flows in the absolute darkness of the night (depending on the water level of the crater lake).

The subsequent strenuous ascent to the crater rim is rewarded. Once at the summit, you will experience a fantastic, magical view over the greenish blue lake of the Ijen Crater at sunrise, the most poisonous lake in the world.

On the way, they will meet the numerous workers who mine the sulphur and transport it into the valley in their baskets weighing up to 100 kilograms.

Once in the valley, they do not miss the opportunity to stop by the weighing station to experience how hard the brave miners have to toil.

Before heading back to your hotel in Banyuwangi, refuel with a cup of fresh coffee, fruits, and local snacks in a typical Javanese waroeng at the entrance to the national park.

After breakfast, prepare for a fantastic tour of some of Bali’s most mystical and beautiful temple complexes.

First, you will climb the “Stairs to Heaven”, one of the ancient temples in the east of Bali – the Lempuyang Temple, called Pura Lempuyang Luhur in the local language.

This is one of Bali’s oldest and most famous temples. The temple is located at an altitude of 1175 m above sea level, on the summit of Mount Lempuyang. Afterwards, you will visit Tirta Gangga, the picturesque and ancient bathing pool of the king of the area.

Continue to Taman Ujung Karangasem or also known as Taman Soekasada Ujung (Edge Soekasada Park), a dreamlike water palace with a floating palace covering an area of more than 10 hectares in the village of Tumbu, Karangasem Regency, about 5 km southeast of Amlapura.

After your breakfast and check-out at the hotel, you will be driven to the airport for your onward flight to Flores.

Once there, your chauffeur will drive you to your beach hotel.

Wildlife observation can now only be done from the promenade so as not to disturb the endangered wildlife too much.

In about an hour, you will hike to Banugulung, a former feeding ground for the Komodo dragons, to which they still like to return.

(Note: Komodo dragons are strictly protected and find enough natural food on the island and therefore do not have to/should not be lured especially for tourists). On the way to Banugulung, you will discover not only the giant lizards, but many other wild animals.

From time to time, direct your gaze to the treetops, because that’s where the monitor lizard babies hide from their cannibalistic counterparts.
